Our parenting group is currently on hiatus.

Class cost is $15 per couple or $10 per individual. Those enrolled in the parenting class may bring their children to free child group counseling while the parenting class takes place.

First Avenue Counseling Centre offers a nine-week parenting class based on the STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) program. classes focus on effective ways of communicating with children, establishing and reinforcing wanted behaviors, and finding the right consequences to eliminate unwanted behaviors.

Our program is designed to meet CPS requirements, and is structured on a cycle so that participants may begin and end at any point on the nine-week span. So long as you complete nine consecutive weeks, you will have gone through the entire program and will receive a certificate of completion.
