Therapist's Introduction
I have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 2001. I have extensive experience working with individuals, adolescents, couples and families who desire to enrich their lives through personal relationships they have with themselves and others.
To be human is to understand that in life "pain is inevitable, suffering is optional." Sadly, most people experience suffering too often in their lives. This suffering takes the form of anxiety, depression, addictions, self hate, emotional disconnection with others, and primarily with their self. Exploring the beliefs and meanings we are saddle with from our childhood are the keys to unlocking the suffering. Increasing awareness of these beliefs and meanings are what psychotherapy is all about.
It takes a tremendous amount of courage and strength to reach out for help. Each person has developed a set of beliefs which shape their world. These beliefs influence a person's thoughts, feelings and behaviors. In my work with clients, I focus on increasing people's awareness of their belief systems and identifying the ones that are connected to their suffering. With the end of suffering, a person experiences the possibility for creating the life they truly desire.
I offer a 20 minute complementary phone consultation for you to get questions answered and to see if my style of therapy is a good fit for you. I look forward to talking with you.
